41-Year-Old Faces Felony In 'Swatting' Incident At Hudson Valley Home

The Fishkill resident was charged with felony falsely reporting an incident, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

EAST FISHKILL, NY — A dangerous prank call has put a Dutchess County man in hot water, according to police.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office says that 41-year-old Kieran T. Maddock, of Fishkill, was arrested on Tuesday in connection to a "swatting" incident that took place that morning.

On Tuesday, shortly after 6 a.m., the sheriff's office and Town of East Fishkill police responded to a home in East Fishkill after receiving a report of several shots fired.

Once on the scene, law enforcement found that there was no emergency and the call appeared to have been a prank.

After further investigation by sheriff's office detectives, Maddock was arrested later that day, and is accused of making the false report that led to the emergency police response. He was charged with felony second-degree falsely reporting an incident. He was processed, arraigned before the Town of East Fishkill Court, and scheduled to reappear on April 2.
