4th Suspect Charged In 2022 Beacon Murder: Police

The charges stem from the fatal drive-by shooting of Lionell Pittman, according to police.

BEACON, NY — Police this week arrested a fourth individual in connection with the 2022 drive-by shooting murder of Lionell Pittman.

Jarell Brown, 32, of Beacon, was charged on a warrant with first-degree murder (contract murder), second-degree murder (intentional murder), and second-degree conspiracy.

Chief of Police Thomas Figlia said Beacon police made the arrest Tuesday morning with assistance from the Dutchess County Drug Task Force and the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office UAV (Drone) Unit.

In June, September and November of 2024, Beacon police arrested three individuals who are accused of being present for, and participating in, the crime, according to Figlia. Those three previous arrestees include Naije Perrette, Khyree Pratt, and Zyree Downing.

“This (fourth) arrest stands as further proof that the Beacon Police Department will do what is necessary to fully investigate violence in our community and bring the perpetrators of all aspects of these crimes to justice,” Figlia said, in a news release on Facebook.

The 32-year-old victim was shot and killed in May 2022 in the vicinity of the Forrestal Heights complex parking lot off West Center Street.

Brown was arraigned in Dutchess County Court and has been remanded to the Dutchess County Jail, police said. He is next due in court on April 14.
