62-Year-Old ID'd As Victim Of Fatal Harley-Davidson Crash On I-87
The Putnam County man was ejected 80 feet when his tire blew in Ulster County, causing the motorcycle to turn sideways and roll, police say.

NEW PALTZ, NY — New York State Police have identified the victim in Tuesday's fatal motorcycle crash on the New York State Thruway.
State police say that on Tuesday, around 7:43 a.m., troopers from Highland responded to I-87, near exit 18, in the town of New Paltz, after receiving reports of a motorcycle crash.
An initial investigation found that a 2009 Harley-Davidson was traveling north on I-87, near exit 18, when the rear tire blew out, causing the motorcycle to turn sideways and roll in the left lane until it came to a stop, according to NYSP.

State police say that the rider, identified as 62-year-old Martin T. Muller, of Mahopac, was ejected and landed around 80 feet south of the motorcycle.
New Paltz Rescue EMS initiated life-saving measures at the scene. Muller was then taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

NYSP say that the investigation into the crash remains active.
