Arrests Made In 2020 Poughkeepsie Murder: Police

Police said Paul Thompson, 64, was found dead March 2, 2020, in his Main Street apartment.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Two Poughkeepsie residents were arrested after being accused of being involved in an almost three-year-old murder case.

On March 2, 2020, Paul Thompson, 64, was found dead in his Main Street apartment. His death was ruled a homicide, police said.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department said Sunday Consuelo Leonard, 45, and Rodarius Smith, 35, both of Poughkeepsie, were arrested and charged with second-degree murder, a felony, in Thompson’s death.

Both were arraigned and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Police said the investigation into Thompson’s death is continuing.
