Bardavon To Reopen For Performances In August
The performing arts venue was closed for 14 months because of the coronavirus.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — After being closed for 14 months, Bardavon will be reopening the Bardavon 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie and the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston.
The Bardavon and UPAC box offices will be selling tickets and answer questions remotely starting June 8. The hours will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Tickets may be purchased online 24 hours a day at Ticketmaster. Fees will apply.

The following four shows will go on sale to Bardavon members at 11 a.m.Tuesday and to the general public at 11 a.m. Friday.
Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue – Sunday, August 22 at 7 p.m. at UPAC
Multi-instrumentalist Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews brings his R&B, rock, rap and funk brass band to UPAC for the very first time! Tickets start at $50.
Dispatch (Acoustic) - Saturday, September 25 at 8 p.m. at Bardavon
One of the country’s most successful indie/roots bands brings its politically progressive acoustic rock to the Bardavon for an intimate show. Tickets start at $45.
David Sedaris - Saturday, October 16 at 8 p.m. at Bardavon
Sedaris returns to the Bardavon to read stories spanning his remarkable career, followed by a Q & A and book signing. All Tickets $49.
Words & Music: An intimate evening with Patti Smith – Saturday, November 13 at 8 p.m. at UPAC
Pioneering artist and punk icon Patti Smith performs original spoken-word stories from her life, interspersed with songs, and will take questions from the audience. Tickets start at $49.
The following shows were postponed in 2020 and are on sale now:

- Mavericks Dec 18 at UPAC
- Celtic Woman March 20 at UPAC
- Stomp May 26 at UPAC.
Executive Director Chris Silva said Bardavon is committed to providing healthy and safe facilities for audiences, performers and staff.
Based on state and federal guidelines, the ventilation and filtration systems have been enhanced to meet the highest standards in the lobbies, theaters and backstage areas. In addition, air purifiers and hand sanitizers are situated throughout the theaters.
As CDC guidelines change at the time of performance, protocols may include mask enforcement or vaccination or negative test verification.
