The bear was rescued from a perch in an Orange County tree, checked out by wildlife experts, and tagged for eventual return to the wild.

Fire officials said in a social media post that the bear was handed over to a wildlife management agency who tagged the animal, and will make sure he gets "back out to the wild where there is more wooded area than the City of Middletown."
