Biden To Give 2024 West Point Commencement Speech

The speech will be the first Biden will have given at West Point as president, though he did make two appearances as vice president.

WEST POINT, NY — President Joe Biden will be following up his fundraising visit in Westchester with an appearance at May 25 commencement ceremonies for the graduates of the United States Academy at West Point.

The White House announced Tuesday that Biden will be the 2024 commencement speaker, according to a West Point spokesperson.

This will be Biden’s first time as president at a West Point graduation ceremony, though he did make two appearances while he served as vice president.

West Point’s graduation ceremony will be held at Michie Stadium on Saturday, May 25, when approximately 1,025 cadets will be commissioned into the U.S. Army as second lieutenants.

In 2023, Vice President Kamala Harris attended West Point’s graduation, which was the first time in the academy’s 221-year history that a woman was the commencement speaker.
