Big Gay Hudson Valley Serving Brews For 'Winter Onesie Sunday Funday'

HIGHLAND, NY — What are you doing for Presidents Day weekend? How about some day-time disco and brews?

Big Gay Hudson Valley has partnered with Bad Seed Hard Cider Tap Room in Highland for Winter Onesie Sunday Funday and is encouraging the Hudson Valley queer community and friends to don their cutest winter onesie or other seasonal fashion for an afternoon of partying at the free event.

Organizer Stephen Hengst said that New York City’s DJ Sir Gogo Gadget and Glow Job of the House of Yes! will be serving up the beats while Bad Seed Hard Cider will be pouring their finest. Revolution Foods will be there selling snacks and other food.

“While it hasn’t been an awful winter,” Hengst told Patch, “we know that everyone is still recovering from three long years of pandemic realness.

“With so many individuals having moved upstate over the last few years, and many of us who’ve been here a long time looking to get back to socializing,” he said, “this weekend’s event is designed to give the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ community a chance to gather with one another to reconnect and have fun on what’s forecast to be a beautiful Sunday afternoon.”

The event will be indoors and outdoors with fire pits, and dogs are also welcome as long as they are kept on a leash.

Hengst said the afternoon event is open to all ages but, if you are going to enjoy the hard cider, you will need to be 21 or older.

Winter Onesie Sunday Funday is free, but tickets are required. There is also an option to make a donation to help offset the costs.
