Caregiver Accused Of Assaulting Non-Verbal Disabled Adult At ARC

An investigation kicked off in May, after an anonymous report about possible abuse at the facility in Ulster County, police said.

ULSTER COUNTY, NY — A Hudson Valley woman has been arrested in connection to the abuse of a disabled, non-verbal adult in her care.

On June 19, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at Ellenville announced the arrest of 36-year-old Kimberly W. Kaiser, of Ellenville, on charges of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.

The investigation started in May, after an anonymous report was made about possible abuse. Investigators said Kaiser struck a 43-year-old nonverbal disabled patient while in her care at the Ulster County ARC.

Kaiser was arrested and processed at State Police Ellenville and released on an appearance ticket to the Town of Rochester Court on July 2.
