The accused cold-blooded snake slayer confessed, and said he was trying to dispose of the snake when cops arrived, according to NYSDEC.

FISHKILL, NY — Suspicious behavior near a wooded area in the Hudson Valley led to an unexpected find, according to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
On May 28, conservation officers spotted two people with a large metal pole in the town of Fishkill. The officers approached the pair and soon identified the metal pole as a large set of snake tongs.
The two snake-tong-toting suspects told the conservation officers that they caught a large snake and let it go in a grassy area nearby, according to the NYSDEC. It was then that officers spotted a near-dead belly-up snake nearby still writhing slightly.
