From a still center, George Quasha draws with two hands at once with three or four brushes and acrylic paint, and spontaneous movement emerges and moves as a creative impulse, through shoulder, arms, hands and finger; unpredictable, alive and seeking expression through form. Lines, like intertwined neurons, merge with harmonic sounds to be heard as a sacred conversation in synaptic space. For George Quasha’s Dakini manifestation drawing, John Beaulieu and friends will create a sonic environment using specially Pythagorean tuned Biosonic tuning forks designed to sound harmonics, based on Alexander Scriabin’s mystic chord, designed to inspire the opening of mystical passageways between heaven and earth.

Dedicated to David Arner, whose sounds continue to dance in Axial silence.

Axial Music follows a principle of spontaneous interpersonal composition without the intention of honoring precedent or previous patterns, guided instead by radical following of actual sounds generated in an intentional field. When successful, the sound event has a life independent of the musicians and may generate an altered state of listening.

John Beaulieu is a composer, musician, psychologist and naturopathic physician exploring multiple mediums of creative expression as part of his exploration of consciousness for healing and greater spiritual understandings. He is the founder of Biosonic Enterprises, Ltd., dedicated to tuning the world. His work ranges from the development of tuning forks as musical instruments tuned to precise mathematical formulas to intuitive divination sonic systems.

“We are so excited to have George Quasha and John Beaulieu at CO. Their performances promise to be an amazing experience, and we hope you will join us on Oct. 26,” said CO Co-owner Dugan Radwin.

The show will be up through December 13 at CO. The public is welcome to come view it during business hours.
