Community Awareness Expo in Saugerties on Saturday

The Saugerties Central School District will hold a community awareness expo on Saturday at the Cantine Field pavilion.

The event is the kickoff for the district’s “kNOw MORE” initiative and will run from noon to 3 p.m. The “kNOw MORE” program is an effort to raise awareness about problems and stresses that students face and to provide resources that can help students and their families make healthy decisions.

Carole Kelder, the principal of Mount Marion Elementary School and a member of the “kNOw MORE” committee, told the Kingston Freeman that the goal of the program is to raise awareness about a variety of issues, including bullying, texting while driving, depression and suicide.
