Disgruntled Fired Employee Accused Of Slashing 30 Tires At Holistic Studies Institute

CLINTON, NY — A disgruntled former worker embarked on a decidedly unspiritual course of revenge, according to state troopers.

On Tuesday, shortly before noon, troopers from the State Police Rhinebeck barracks responded to a report of criminal mischief at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, in the Town of Clinton.

Troopers arrived to find 30 vehicles, all with at least one tire slashed on each. Further investigation also uncovered evidence of a burglary in the facility's kitchen.

An investigation by troopers and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation determined that 27-year-old Michael V. Fitzpatrick, of Pine Plains, a former employee recently terminated from his kitchen duties at the institute, was responsible for the damage, according to NYSP.

Fitzpatrick was arrested on June 18, and charged felony burglary, illegal entry with intent to commit a crime and 31 counts of felony criminal mischief. He was arraigned in the Town of Clinton Court and released under the supervision of probation. Fitzpatrick is scheduled to appear in court on August 7.
