Dyson Center Celebrates Cancer Survivors on June 5

Health Quest invites cancer survivors and their families to attend a June 5 Celebration of Life.

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. — Cancer survivors and their families are invited to a Celebration of Life party hosted by Health Quest from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 5.

The festivities will include refreshments, craft activities, a guest speaker and a ceremonious release of butterflies at the Dyson Center for Cancer Care, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie. A quilt wall with messages of hope, love and inspiration made by other local survivors will also be on display.

June 5 is National Cancer Survivors Day and the event commemorates the occasion by providing cancer survivors with an opportunity to connect with others, honor milestones and to recognize the healthcare providers, family and friends who have supported them in their journey.

“This event is filled with such hope and joy,” Vassar Brother Medical Center Chaplain Jan Fritzinger said. “It is so inspiring to have survivors and their loved ones come together to celebrate life.”
