Early Voting Set For 2024 Presidential Primary In Mid-Hudson Valley

Registered Democrats and Republicans have other voting options for the primary, including getting an early mail.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The presidential primary in New York will be held Tuesday, April 4.

Voters registered as Democrats or Republicans in the mid-Hudson Valley have options for casting their ballots for presidential candidates.

There’s early voting, which begins Saturday, and early mail and absentee ballots. Of course, you can always go to the polls on the actual day of the primary.

Important deadlines for the presidential primary election are:

  • Registering to vote for the first time: March 23
  • Submit an absentee ballot application by mail; must be received by your county board of elections on or before March 23
  • Submit an absentee ballot application in-person to your county board of elections: April 1
  • Return your voted absentee ballot by mail: Postmarked by April 2; your county board of elections must receive your ballot by April 9
  • Return your voted absentee ballot in-person: April 2 by close of polls at 9 p.m.

Early voting begins Saturday, March 23 and ends Saturday, March 30. There will be no early voting on Sunday, March 31.
