Ex-Martial Arts Instructor Faces Additional Abuse Counts: DA

The man was arraigned Tuesday on a 42-count indictment in Dutchess County Court, according to the district attorney's office.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY — A former martial arts instructor charged with sexually abusing children earlier this year now faces additional counts.

Tyler LeClerc, 28, of Hyde Park, was arraigned Tuesday in Dutchess County Court on a 42-count indictment, according to the Dutchess County District Attorney’s office.

LeClerc is now charged with six counts of criminal sexual act in the third degree, one count of first-degree sexual abuse, 17 counts of forcible touching, and 18 counts of third-degree sexual abuse.

LeClerc entered a “not guilty” plea, court documents show.

Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi said LeClerc is accused of abusing youths who were students at LeClerc’s Martial Arts school.

“The allegations are deeply disturbing, and we are committed to ensuring that justice is served for the victims involved,” Parisi said. “No child should ever feel unsafe in a place meant to foster discipline and respect. We will not tolerate any actions that endanger the well-being of our children.”

According to Parisi, the charges stem from incidents between March 2021 and February 2025 at various locations involving four different youths.

New York State Police investigated the case and filed charges in February.

LeClerc is next due to appear in court on April 24.
