Forecasters Issue Latest Snow Total Predictions For Tuesday In Hudson Valley: Here’s What To Expect
Depending on where you live in the Hudson Valley, you could get anywhere from a dusting to half a foot of snow.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Northern areas of the Hudson Valley are expected to get up to six inches of snow on Tuesday.
However, southern counties will have very little snow accumulation, according to meteorologists.
Abbey Gant, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service based in Albany, said precipitation is expected to begin between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Any precipitation will start out light, then become heavy in the late morning and into the afternoon, according to Gant. The system is expected to clear out of the Hudson Valley around midnight Tuesday.
According to Gant, the further north, the more snow is expected in the Hudson Valley, while southern areas will have “mostly a rain event.”

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Ulster and Dutchess counties, where total snow accumulations of two to six inches are expected.
In Orange County, total snow accumulation of between three and five inches is likely, with local totals of six inches possible, according to the National Weather Service.
In Putnam and Rockland counties, the National Weather Service is predicting about one to three inches of snow. In Westchester County, little to no snow accumulation is expected, though it will be rainy and windy.

Tuesday: Snow before 11 a.m., then rain and snow. High near 35. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Tuesday Night: Rain and snow likely before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of snow between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 20. North wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Here are the forecast details for the lower Hudson Valley area via the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: Snow likely before 10 a.m., then rain. High near 40. Light and variable wind becoming north 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Rain, possibly mixed with snow, mainly before 7 p.m. Low around 27. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
