General Election 2022: Mid-Hudson Valley Absentee, Early Voting Info

Registered voters do not have to wait until Nov. 8 to cast a ballot — there's absentee and early voting.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The general election will held Tuesday, Nov. 8 with polls open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

But registered voters in the mid-Hudson Valley don’t have to wait until Nov. 8 to cast their ballots.

You still have time to apply for an absentee ballot, or you could take advantage of early voting.

Absentee Ballot Information for Nov. 8 General Election:

  • Oct. 24 is the last day for the Board of Elections to receive an application, letter, fax, email or absentee online portal request for the General Election ballot.
  • Nov. 7 is the last day for an applicant or agent to apply in person at the Board of Elections for the General Election absentee ballot.
  • Nov. 8 is the last day to postmark the General Election absentee ballot by mail. The ballot must be received by the Board of Elections no later than Nov. 15.
  • Nov. 8 is the last day to deliver the General Election absentee ballot in person to the Board of Elections or at any poll site throughout the county, by the close of the polls on election day.

Early voting in New York for the general election will be available from Saturday, Oct. 29 through Sunday, Nov. 6. Anyone can vote at any early voting site in the county in which they are registered.

For additional voting information, visit Vote411, an interactive website created and maintained by the League of Women Voters. The site supplies personalized ballots and polling locations simply by entering the voter's home address.
