19th Annual Best of Weddings Awards Recognizes Top Wedding Professionals Across U.S.

Got2Lindy Dance Studios has been selected as a ­winner of The Knot Best of Weddings for the fourth consecutive year. This prestigious award is given only to the top wedding professionals who received consistently stellar reviews by couples on the wedding planning website, The Knot, in the previous year.

To determine the 2025 winners, The Knot assessed thousands of user reviews for 200,000+ wedding professionals within its Vendor Marketplace across various categories to find the top-rated vendors. These winners represent the wedding professionals that best embody what matters to couples in their wedding planning journey. The Knot Best of Weddings award gives couples the confidence to book the best vendors to bring their wedding visions to life.

“We just celebrated our 20th year in business last October,” says Linda Freeman, who with her husband, Chester, have been running Got2Lindy Dance Studios since 2004. “Our greatest joy is seeing all the wedding couples who came through our doors thinking they had two left feet and who left dancing! We work one-on-one with couples to realize their dancing dreams for whatever style suits their special song and their personalities. We don’t do a cookie-cutter approach or lock couples into contracts they can’t possibly use. Most of our couples say that learning to dance with us was their favorite part of their wedding planning, and often even admit that their dance was their favorite part of their wedding!

“At this point we sometimes get generations of dancers,” says Linda. “We’ll get parents, siblings and cousins of wedding couples who come to us for their own weddings, to be able to dance at weddings and for just the sheer fun of it. For many people, that special event is just what gets them through the door and then they never want to leave, so they join our group swing dance classes and find a new hobby.”

In fact, Linda likes to point out that she and her husband started to learn to dance as a hobby when they got married 25 years ago before it turned into a passion and then a career. “Our biggest regret was that we didn’t know how to dance at our own wedding,” says Linda. “Once we got married, we were looking for something fun to do together. That is what makes us such good teachers now. We learned as adults and so we understand all the baggage that comes with learning something new at an older age. My husband and I have different learning styles: he is quick and I am not, he can see something and mimic it, and I cannot. This has become a strength when we teach since I know how to work with students who learn like me, and he can do the same with students who learn like he does.”

Lessons at Got2Lindy aren’t just for wedding couples. “None of our events require you to attend with a partner,” adds Linda, “so our dance classes have grown to become a community of friendships way beyond the classroom. In today’s epidemic of loneliness, that connection and community is the most important thing of all.”
