The Gun Was Submerged In Mud, But K-9 Enzo Uncovered The Evidence: Sheriff
A domestic violence incident with gunshots was reported, and the K-9 helped dig up the firearm, according to the Orange County Sheriff.

CAMPBELL HALL, NY — The evidence may have been hidden from view, but law enforcement had an investigator on the case with a nose for just this sort of thing.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that on Sunday, deputies responded to a home in the Campbell Hall area after receiving reports of a domestic incident involving a gunshot.
Once at the scene, they found a 25-year-old man in the driveway, and immediately detained him.

After speaking with the family, it was determined that after a verbal argument, the suspect took a handgun to the backyard, and fired a round toward the woods.
When deputies arrived at the location, the suspect no longer had the gun.

Deputy Luke Solomon and K-9 Enzo then initiated a track and evidence search through a large field, wooded area, and ravine behind the home. K-9 Enzo soon tracked into a water-filled area and alerted to the firearm, which was partially submerged in mud. Moments later, K-9 Enzo also found a loaded magazine hidden beneath high grass near the ravine.
The suspect was taken to the Sheriff's Office and charged with felony criminal possession of a firearm, misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned and released with a future date in the Orange County Court.
"We commend Deputy Solomon and K-9 Enzo for their outstanding work in locating critical evidence and ensuring the safety of all involved," the Orange County Sheriff's Office posted on social media.
