Heavy Rain, Possible T-Storms Forecast For Hudson Valley: Timeline, Details Released
Mother's Day weekend brings big weather changes, according to forecasters.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The region is about to get another soaking before the holiday weekend finally brings warmer and sunnier weather.
Brian Frugis, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Albany, said Thursday that rain will start again later today.
“We are expecting a rain storm for the next few days, starting tonight, continuing Friday and then winding down on Saturday morning,” he said.

The amount of rainfall is expected to be “significant,” Frugis said, with the National Weather Service predicting more than an inch and a half of precipitation, and up to three inches possible.
While the forecast shows possible thunderstorms in the region with this storm system, Frugis said they aren’t expected to be severe.

“There might be a rumble of thunder at times, but the storm looks more like steady rainfall,” Frugis said.
Temperatures will be on the cooler side Friday, with highs in the mid-50s. Once this rainstorm exits, the region will warm up starting Saturday.
For the holiday, the weather will be perfect for outdoor activities.
“The rain will be well gone by Mother’s Day, which will be mostly sunny, with temperatures in the low 70s,” Frugis said.
