History and Politics in Music and Song at the Poughkeepsie Library
Library presentation features historic political music and song.
The Poughkeepsie Public Library will present "Politics and Patriots," with Tom Lindsay and Michael Eck, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Boardman Road Branch Library. The presentation will feature songs and stories from America’s founding to World War II, including campaign songs and ballads, comedy and tragedy. From George Washington to F.D.R., American statesmen have had their strengths, weaknesses, triumphs and tragedies chronicled in song.
