Hudson Valley Native Wins Gold At Tokyo Olympics For Basketball
Stefanie Dolson, who was born and raised in Orange County, was part of the women's three-on-three basketball team at the 2020 Olympics.
PORT JERVIS, NY — An Orange County native won a gold medal Wednesday at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Stefanie Dolson, 29, who was born in Goshen and grew up in Port Jervis, took the medal for women's three-on-three basketball.
She won two national championships for the University of Connecticut and played the last four seasons for the Chicago Sky, the Journal News reported.

Three-on-three women's basketball was played for the first time at the Olympics. Dolson's teammates were Allisha Gray, Jackie, Young and Kelsey Plum.
The team beat the Russian Olympic Committee 18-15, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

In a postgame interview, Dolson said, "It's always special to be the first of anything."
