Hudson Valley Weather: Father's Day Weekend Forecast: What You Need To Know
Meteorologists predict the best time for weekend outdoor fun.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The early part of the weekend is expected to bring rainfall to the region, but forecasters say Sunday will be mostly dry for Father’s Day celebrations.
Rosemary Webb, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Albany, said Friday night will bring an increasing chance for rain showers in the Hudson Valley, with rain expected into Saturday morning.
Between noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, any rain showers in the region should be over, according to Webb.

Saturday will have cooler than normal temperatures, with highs only reaching into the upper 60s, according to the National Weather Service.
Saturday afternoon and Sunday are predicted to be mostly dry, Webb said. The highs on Sunday will be slightly warmer, reaching up into the low 70s.

The weather is expected to be nice for Father’s Day celebrations and activities, with only a slight chance for precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.
“It should be good for everybody on Sunday, as it is expected to be a comfortable and dry day,” Webb said.
Here are the forecast details for the Mid-Hudson Valley area via the National Weather Service, as of Friday at 2 p.m.:
This Afternoon: Partly sunny, with a high near 76. Light northeast wind.
Tonight: A chance of showers, mainly between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Saturday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 69. Northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 2 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 55. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday: A slight chance of showers before 8 a.m., then a slight chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Showers likely, mainly before 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 64. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 2 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 56. East wind around 8 mph.
Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 67. East wind around 8 mph.
