Hyde Park Man Accused Of Threatening Hyde Park Police
The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said the man was charged with making a terroristic threat, which is a felony.
HYDE PARK, NY — A Hyde Park resident was arrested after being accused of making threats against his community’s police.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau said Michael A. Cavagnolo, 48, of Hyde Park, was arrested March 5 in connection with an investigation into threats of violence made against the Town of Hyde Park Police Department.
The sheriff’s office was asked on March 5 to investigate an incident in which the Hyde Park police had been threatened.

Further evidence resulted in the arrest of Cavagnolo, the sheriff’s office said, and at this time, he is accused of contacting the Hyde Park police by phone and threatening to shoot their officers and destroy their facility.
Cavagnolo was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.

After processing, he was arraigned in the Town of Hyde Park Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
