GOSHEN, NY — It's a little bit of information, but it's more than we had before about when Legoland will open its gates.

A banner graphic on Legoland New York Resort website says it will open this summer.

Amusement park officials still have not announced the actual opening date, but people interested in visiting the park in Orange County can purchase one-day admission tickets online at a 10 percent discount.

The on-site price of admission is $69.99 for children age 3 to 12 and $79.99 for adults 13 and up. Knock off the discount and the online prices are $62.99 and $71.99, respectively.

The gold annual pass, which gets you unlimited admission to Legoland New York Resort, is $229.99 online. The pass includes free standard parking for the entire season and access to more than 30 Merlin Attractions in North America

Vacation vouchers can be purchased now and redeem in the future for one of the park's vacation packages.

Legoland New York is set to be the largest of parent company Merlin Entertainments' eight Legoland parks around the world.

The park, which is located off Route 17 in Goshen, will feature 50 rides and attractions, which will be on about one-third of the site's 500 acres. There will also be a 250-room, four-story hotel at the park.

One of the rides — the Lego Factory Adventure Ride — will use technology to turn the riders into Lego Minifigures as they travel through a Lego factory. Park officials said the ride is meant to make guests feel as if they were a part of the automatic robot machinery that one would see in a Lego factory.

In October 2019, the resort announced that a grand opening celebration would take place July 4, 2020. That didn't come to fruition because of the global pandemic which shut down all entertainment and non-essential businesses.

In February, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said outdoor amusement parks could open as of April 9 with a 33 percent capacity limit.
