Mayor Nelson To Leave Poughkeepsie At Year's End

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Marc Nelson, the former city administrator who became mayor when Rob Rolison was elected to the state Senate will be leaving Poughkeepsie at the end of the year.

Nelson is in negotiations for the job of Simsbury, Connecticut, town manager, MidHudson News reported.

He was the tax collector in the Hartford, Connecticut, suburb before coming to Poughkeepsie in 2016.

Nelson ran in the June Democratic primary to stay in office as mayor but came in third. Yvonne Flowers received the most votes, with Wesley J. Lee coming in second.
