Mid-Hudson Man Accused Of Inappropriately Touching A Minor

Police said the child was under the age of 11.

SHAWANGUNK, NY — A Pine Bush man was arrested after being accused of inappropriately touching a minor.

The New York State Police said James A. Grant Jr., 73, of Pine Bush, was charged Wednesday with first-degree sex abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Police said they were notified Jan. 27 that Grant touched a minor under the age of 11 in an inappropriate manner three days earlier.

He was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court and released on $5,000 bail. An order of protection was issued by a judge on behalf of the victim.

Grant is ordered to return to the Town of Shawangunk court Feb. 21.
