MIDDLETOWN, NY — A Middletown man who admitted raping a child will be going to prison.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler said Liborio Nieto, 28, of Middletown, was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision.

He will also have to register as a sex offender under the New York Sex Offender Registration Act.

Nieto pleaded guilty to first-degree rape and said he engaged in sexual intercourse with a child who was less than 13 years old.

Hoovler said this sentence will ensure the offender will be unable to victimize another child but the heinous conduct has lifelong consequences for the innocent victim.
