MISN received a New York State proclamation from Senator James Skoufis acknowledging its efforts in closing healthcare access gaps

NEWBURGH, NY, Nov 12, 2024—The Maternal Infant Services Network (MISN), a community–based non-profit that provides programs and resources to families to bridge the gaps in healthcare access, on Friday, November 1, received a New York State proclamation from Senator James Skoufis of the 42nd Senate District of NY honoring its service to the community in over three decades.
The event, held at the MISN Newburgh office, included staff and partners of the non-profit. MISN serves over 3,000 people each month in predominantly marginalized communities across Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster, and Dutchess counties—with a significant focus on reducing racial and gender health disparities and providing programs centered around youth, maternal and perinatal care, health advocacy, health insurance navigation, and family home services.
“I am so grateful for the Maternal Infant Services Network (MISN),” said Senator Skoufis. “Their contributions to Orange County families are vital, keeping mothers and babies healthy and connected to resources and the community. I am proud to recognize their work and look forward to supporting this organization for many years to come.”
