Police said the woman tried to get away from law enforcement and led them on a chase.

WALLKILL, NY — A Westchester County woman was accused of stealing from Wallkill area stores and trying to get away from the police.

The New York State Police said, shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday, troopers were notified by a manager at a local Price Chopper about a person who left the store with a cart full of items for which she didn’t pay.

Authorities said the woman was seen putting the merchandise in her 2008 Volvo XC90 and leaving the area.
