New President Selected For Vassar Brothers Medical Center
The new president will replace Peter Kelly, who recently retired.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A new president was appointed at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Nuvance Health, the hospital’s parent company, selected Susan L. Browning to replace Peter Kelly, who recently retired.
She joins Nuvance Health from Northwell Health where she served as senior vice president of ambulatory strategy and business development. Before that, she was the executive director of Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital.

Michelle Robertson, the chief operating officer of Nuvance, said the organization was thrilled to have Browning join the team.
“She has a strong track record of leadership and a deep commitment to delivering high-quality patient care,” she said, “and we believe she is the perfect fit to lead Vassar Brothers Medical Center into the future.”

Browning said she was honored to be able to serve as the medical center’s president.
“I am committed to building upon the strong foundation and working with the team to provide the highest level of care to our patients,” she said. “I also look forward to working with all of our Nuvance Health colleagues as we strive for excellence in these challenging times.”
As president, Browning will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations, including financial performance, patient satisfaction and quality of care, according to a spokesperson.
Browning received her master’s degree in public health from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a bachelor of arts from Barnard College at Columbia University. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, past president of Healthcare Leaders of New York and served as an examiner with the United States Department of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program.
