Noise At Newburgh Rodeo Leads To Citation From Neighboring Town
Using a decibel meter, cops determined that the noise, while originating in Newburgh, exceeded allowable noise limits in New Windsor.

NEW WINDSOR, NY — A noise complaint in one Hudson Valley town led to a citation from a neighboring town.
The New Windsor Police Department said that on April 27, the town received several complaints from residents about noise near the Newburgh city line.
When New Windsor police officers arrived, they found that the source of the noise was an outdoor event being held at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center on South William St., in the City of Newburgh.

Using a decibel meter to measure the noise, officers determined that the sounds, while originating in the City of Newburgh, exceeded allowable noise limits within the New Windsor Town Code.
On Thursday, 35-year-old Sergio Martinez, of Yonkers, an employee of Zamora Entertainment, was issued a citation by the New Windsor Police Departmenet for violating the New Windsor Town Code, pertaining to noise and illumination control. According to Zamora Live East Coast's social media pages, the organization held a jaripeo rodeo at the Armory on April 27.

Martinez is scheduled to appear in the New Windsor Town Court on May 27.
"For years, the Town of New Windsor has worked tirelessly with the owner and staff of the Newburgh Armory to address ongoing complaints about excessively loud events that disrupt the peace of our neighborhoods here in New Windsor," Town Supervisor Stephen Bedetti said. "While we support community gatherings, they must be conducted within the bounds of our local laws. This citation underscores our commitment to enforcing the noise ordinance and protecting the quality of life for all our residents."
