NY Senate District 41 Results: Hinchey Leads Serino With All Votes In
Republican Sue Serino and Democrat Michelle Hinchey were vying to represent the newly redrawn state Senate District 41.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With 100 percent of the votes counted, Democrat Michelle Hinchey leads Republican Susan Serino 72,149 votes to 65,599 votes for the new 41st Senate District, according to unofficial results from the New York Board of Elections.
This race pitted incumbent against incumbent because of redistricting.
Hinchey is currently serving in the state Senate representing the 46th Senate District, which was reconfigured. The Saugerties resident is the daughter of former long-time Congressman Maurice Hinchey.

Her priorities on the campaign trail included protecting reproductive rights for women, making life affordable for New Yorkers, addressing the climate crisis, funding education and expanding health care.
Serino, who lives in Hyde Park and is a small business owner, currently represents state Senate District 41, though it was redrawn based on the 2020 Census. She has been on the Hyde Park Town Board and served in the Dutchess County Legislature.

Serino campaigned on making the community more affordable for everyone, building back the community and state after the COVID-19 pandemic, combating the devastation caused by heroin and opioids and protecting the state’s nursing home residents.
The new 41st New York Senate District is made up of parts of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene and Ulster counties.
