Orange County Under Extra Flood Advisory Till 8:45AM

Communities that will flood include Tuxedo Park, Central Valley and Highland Mills. A tornado warning for Ulster County was lifted.

ORANGE COUNTY, NY — At 532 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding, the National Weather Service said, issuing a 3-hour flood advisory on top of the flood watch in effect till midnight Sunday.

Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area in the morning.

Some locations that will experience flooding include ... West Milford, Ringwood, Pompton Lakes, Monroe, Bloomingdale, Greenwood Lake, Harriman, Upper Greenwood Lake, Kiryas Joel, Wanaque, Woodbury, Tuxedo Park, Central Valley and Highland Mills, the NWS said.

A strong thunderstorm will affect portions of southeastern Ulster and west central Dutchess Counties through 6 a.m. At 522 a.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near New Paltz, moving north at 30 mph.
