Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run Near Intersection With Route 9
The 43-year-old woman was helped by bystanders, but died at the scene following the tragic collision Tuesday night in Wappinger.
WAPPINGER, NY — State troopers are trying to find the driver who left the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
On Tuesday evening, the New York State Police were called to a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Old Hopewell Road and Route 9 in the town of Wappinger.
Just after 8:30 p.m., a 43-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Old Hopewell Road approaching the intersection with Route 9. Good Samaritans rendered aid, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
