CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department says that it arrested a Fishkill man on June 24, after an investigation into child abuse allegations.

He was charged with misdemeanor acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17, and misdemeanor third-degree sexual abuse.

Police say the arrest took place after an investigation by the City of Poughkeepsie Detective Bureau, with help from the Child Advocacy Center of Dutchess County.

The suspect was arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 22.

City of Poughkeepsie police said that they are not releasing the suspect's name due to the charges being misdemeanors, but said the information about the arrest may be available through public court records.

According to those public court records, the suspect is 50-year-old Artemio Talampas.

The investigation into the case remains active, and police ask that anyone with information come forward.
