Police ID Dad Who Died With His 2 Sons In Tragic Goshen Fire
Fire crews arrived on the scene of the family home to find the house completely engulfed in flames, according to NY State Police.

GOSHEN, NY — Officials are releasing new details about a tragic house fire, including the identity of a father who died along with the two children he cared for.
New York State Police say that they responded to a residential structure fire with entrapment on Pulaski Highway, in the town of Goshen, Saturday night, around 8:11 p.m. State police were joined by the Town of Goshen Police Department, and numerous Orange County fire departments and EMS agencies.
Fire crews arrived on the scene to find the building completely engulfed in flames. During rescue operations, 50-year-old Shane Munn was found dead inside the home, according to state police.

In addition, two boys, a 12-year-old and a 17-year-old, were found inside the house and taken to Garnett Health Medical Center, in the Town of Wallkill. Both children have since died from their injuries, according to state police.
"In moments of great loss, we are reminded of the strength of our community and the courage of those who serve," Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta said of the tragedy. "Our first responders put themselves in harm's way to protect others, and their dedication does not go unnoticed. We stand with the family and the Goshen community during this difficult time."

NYSP says the incident is currently under investigation by the SP Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), with assistance from the Orange County Fire Investigation Unit and the Hudson Valley Arson and Explosives Task Force.
Agencies from across the region provided assistance, including the Goshen Fire Department, the Florida Fire Department, the Pine Island Fire Department, the Warwick Fire Department, the Slate Hill Fire Department, the Chester Fire Department, the Johnson Fire Department, the Unionville Fire Department, Orange County Fire Coordinators, the Orange County Department of Emergency Services, the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office, Goshen Emergency Medical Services, Warwick Emergency Medical Services, Wawayanda Emergency Medical Services and the American Red Cross.
