Police ID Man Who Died After Car Submerged In Glenmere Lake

Dive teams were called in Monday.

FLORIDA, NY — New York state police have identified Kumar Budhu of Florida, New York as the operator of the 2003 Toyota that drove into Glenmere Lake Monday.

Police were called at 1:30 p.m., New York State Police responded to Glenmere Lake in the village of Florida for a report of a vehicle in the lake. The State Police Underwater Recovery Team, the Forensics Identification Unit and the Village of Florida Battalion Dive Teams were among the responders.

The body of the 47 -year-old was recovered outside the vehicle by the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team, police said.

State police were assisted by the Village of Florida Police Department, Warwick Police Departments, and Greenwood Lake Police Department.
