MID-HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Precipitation and colder weather are headed into the mid-Hudson Valley.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued by the National Weather Service for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.

For Thursday, there is a dynamic storm system associated with a potent upper trough that will move through the region Thursday night into Friday.

Outside of that, the risk of hazardous weather is low, the weather service said, because precipitation will be in the form of rain.

As colder air filters into the region on Friday, precipitation could change over to a brief wintry mix before ending, especially north and west of Albany.
