Poughkeepsie Man Accused Of Having Weapon In Jail
Authorities said he had the weapon in his possession while he was a prisoner at the Dutchess County Jail.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Poughkeepsie man was accused of having a weapon while he was in jail.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said Joseph G. Boccard, 54, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, a felony.
The sheriff’s office said an investigation by law enforcement and the Corrections Division found Boccard, while incarcerated at the Dutchess County Jail, had contraband in the form of an “edged weapon.”

He is due to be arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court Jan. 25.
