From local fields to national fame, these stars got their start in the Hudson Valley.

Sports run deep in the Hudson Valley, and North Rockland High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Red Raiders uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from North Rockland High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
1. Brandon Hepburn - Former NFL Linebacker (Detroit Lions)
A former two-sport athlete with the Red Raiders, Hepburn had a successful football career at Florida A&M. From there, Hepburn was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2013 before signing with practice squads for the remainder of his career. (Source: ESPN.com)
2. Kelvin Smith - Former NFL Linebacker (Miami Dolphins)
Playing multiple positions on the Red Raiders' defense, Smith led his team to a state championship semi-finals. He continued his dominance at Syracuse University and eventually the NFL, being drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round. (Source: Cuse.com)

3. Katelyn Tuohy - Professional Runner (Adidas)
Tuohy was a three-time Gatorade Athlete of the Year for Cross Country and a three-time NXN Champion during her time at North Rockland. Tuohy continued her excellence at NC State, earning NCAA indoor and outdoor championship titles. She currently competes professionally as an Adidas athlete. (Source: WorldAthletics.org)
4. Taylor Aylmer - Professional Soccer Player (Lexington Sporting Club)
A four-time letter winner and Player of the Year at North Rockland, Aylmer continued her success at Rutgers University, being named third-team All-Big Ten and second-team All-Region. She is currently a member of the Lexington Sporting Club. (ScarletKnights.com)

5. Derrick Lassic - NFL Super Bowl Champion (Dallas Cowboys)
A former New York State Large School Player of the Year, Lassic went on to play at the University of Alabama after his tenure at North Rockland High. He was later drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and went on to become a Super Bowl Champion. (Source: RCSHF.org)
