Yvonne Flowers Likely Winner In Poughkeepsie City Mayors Race
Yvonne Flowers received more than 68 percent of the vote in Tuesday's race.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — City of Poughkeepsie voters got to choose a new mayor Tuesday at the polls.
With all 16 districts reporting, Democrat Yvonne D. Flowers has a commanding lead over Republican Anthony M. LaRocca Jr.
According to unofficial results, Flowers has received 68 percent of the vote, with LaRocca receiving 31 percent.

Flowers has 33 years of experience at Dutchess Community College, managing multi-million-dollar grant budgets and preparing and submitting federal, state and county financial reports. She has served on community boards and committees, as well as organizing and hosting community events for more than 20 years with her father John Flowers.
LaRocca is a history and government teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes High School. He has served on the city of Poughkeepsie Zoning Board and is currently on the Historic District and Landmark Preservation Commission.
