The holidays are once again coming early this year for the children and families at Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (RMHGHV), as we host our Christmas in July celebration.

There may not be any icicles or snow but there will be smiles and laughter.

Join us on July 18th and get in the spirit, share in the joy and celebrate with the families and friends of the Ronald McDonald House. Located just steps away from Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, RMHGHV ensures that families stay close while their child receives critical medical care. Our 12-bedroom house, which is at full occupancy almost every night, is always in need of items for the pantry, kitchen, and toy room. As the summer season approaches meals, donations and volunteer availability are all stretched.

Individuals and groups who support the Christmas in July fundraiser are invited to attend a Christmas in July party on Friday, July 18th from 2 to 7 PM at the Ronald McDonald House. The event will feature a BBQ donated by the Yonkers Fire Department, Tie-Dying with Marla Beth Designs, ice cream sundae station donated by Camp Kiwi and Frozen Pedals, stuffed animals from Little Saint Nick Foundation, and music courtesy of DJ Johnny G. Stop by with a donation and have a quick tour of the House all decked out in summer holiday decor provided by American Christmas. Enjoy the festivities and wait for a special visit from Santa himself.

The Presenting Sponsor for the event is DARCARS Automotive Group, with locations in Mt. Kisco and Greenwich.

For those who can’t make the event, you can still participate in Christmas in July by making a donation at RMH-GHV.org and or purchasing items directly from the Amazon Wish List. So don’t forget Christmas in July is only days away. You can help us spread some holiday cheer by:

  • Attending the event and making a donation for our children
  • Bringing donated items to the Christmas in July event
  • Purchase items from the Amazon Wish list and have them delivered to the House
  • Sponsor a family’s stay at the House

“Christmas in July is a fun and festive way for the community to donate to our House and help us as we continue to support our families when their child is receiving medical care,” said Brittany Moretti, Executive Director, RMHGHV. “Our supporters are so generous during the holiday season, but we wanted to create excitement around giving back during the summer when things are less hectic, our supplies start to dwindle and less volunteers sign up to cook meals in our kitchen.”

The Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (RMHGHV) provides families with all the comforts of home and eases some of the emotional and financial burdens they experience when faced with their child’s illness. When children must travel long distances to access top medical care, accommodations for families can be expensive or not readily available. Located on the campus of Westchester Medical Center the House is just steps away from Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Since opening in 2011, RMHGHV has saved more than 2,800 families over $8,00,000 in out-of-pocket lodging and meal costs. As partners in enabling family-centered care RMHGHV strives to be part of the solution in improving the lives of children and their families by providing programs that strengthen families during difficult times.
