Sensory-Sensitive Screening Of 'Inside Out' At Bardavon

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Dutchess County is holding a free sensory-sensitive screening of Pixar's "Inside Out" at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie.

As part of this special "ThinkDIFFERENTLY" event, the theater will adjust both the lighting and sound to make the experience more enjoyable for those on the autism spectrum or who experience sensory issues.

County Executive Marc Molinaro said residents of all abilities and their families are invited to the free screening, which will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.

"It can be a challenge for individuals with disabilities and their families to enjoy what may seem like a simple outing to some, like going to the movies," he said. "We wanted to give all families an opportunity to have fun and take part in a movie experience."
