Sheriff Deputies Find Man Hiding Under Woman's Motel Room Bed
He was violating a protection order and was not supposed to have contact with the woman or her child, who was also in the room, cops said.
TOWN OF ULSTER, NY — An investigation into a woman possibly being held against her will became more complicated when police found a man hiding under a bed.
The Ulster County Sheriff's Office says that on Nov. 29, around 1:58 p.m., deputies responded to the Kingston Motel in the Town of Ulster after a report of a woman being held against her will in a motel room.
Once on the scene, deputies found and interviewed the woman and determined she was not being held against her will, but while investigating, they found 53-year-old Brian W. Williams, of Kingston, hiding under a bed in the motel room.

He was found to be in violation of an active order of protection which prohibited him from being at the woman's motel room, police said. In addition, Williams was also prohibited from having any contact with the woman and her 10-year-old child, who was present during the incident, according authorities.
Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of felony first degree criminal contempt, felony aggravated family offense, and felony aggravated criminal contempt.

He was processed at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center and arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Part Court of Ulster County. Williams was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ulster Justice Court on a future date.
