Smoke Shop Employee Accused Of Selling Pot To Minor
The Dutchess County Drug Task Force said it received complaints that juveniles were buying cannabis products in East Fishkill.
EAST FISHKILL, NY — An East Fishkill smoke shop employee was accused of pot to a minor.
The Dutchess County Drug Task Force said Vikasreddy Sumreddy, 25, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of cannabis, misdemeanors. Additional charges may be filed, authorities said.
During the month of September, the task force conducted an investigation into cannabis dealers in East Fishkill after receiving complaints that juveniles were buying cannabis products.

Authorities said the investigation led to the Sky High Smoke Shop in the town of East Fishkill.
After an operation conducted by the task force resulting in multiple sales to people under the age of 21, Sumreddy was taken into custody inside the store without incident. The minor was said to be as young as 16.

Task force officials said that, since cannabis was legalized in New York, numerous smoke shops have opened in Dutchess County that sell pot-based products.
The task force said it will continue to work to prevent any type of drugs, including cannabis, from ending up in the hands of juveniles. It is a crime in New York to be a person over the age of 21 and sell cannabis to someone under the age of 21.
The Town of East Fishkill Police Department assisted the task force.
