Southside Johnny, Asbury Jukes Set For Free Dutchess Concert

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes will be performing a free concert in Dutchess County this summer. Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro and Dutchess Tourism Inc. President and CEO Mary Kay Vrba announced the event which will take place Saturday, July 20, at the Bandshell at Bowdoin Park.

The concert, which begins at 7 p.m., will be free to the public, and registration will be required. Residents can register online here and are encouraged to bring a picnic, lawn chair, and blanket and enjoy great evening of rock-and-roll.

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes will perform their popular hits, Having a Party, Walk Away Renee, I Don’t Want to Go Home, The Fever, Talk to Me and more.

County Executive Molinaro said the county was excited to partner with Dutchess Tourism.

“Dutchess County Parks are part of what makes us ‘Distinctly Dutchess,’ " he said. "We made a commitment to bring great concert music back to Bowdoin Park and we are delivering. Make your reservations today and mark your calendar for a fantastic summer evening at Bowdoin Park overlooking the beautiful Hudson River to enjoy great music with family and friends.”

Bowdoin Park will be open to all guests July 20, officials said. Bowdoin’s Bandshell concert area will open at 5 p.m. for all concert goers who made a reservation online. People should bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. Picnic baskets and nonalcoholic beverages will be allowed; however, no glass will be allowed within the concert area. Concessions will also be onsite with food and beverage available for purchase.

In the event long-term, severe weather is forecast, the concert will move to the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, formerly known as the Mid-Hudson Civic Center, which is located at 14 Civic Center Plaza in Poughkeepsie.
