State Police Bloodhound Finds Missing Vulnerable Adult

The bloodhound worked through a swamp and multiple fields for a half-hour before finding the person.

CLERMONT, NY — A missing vulnerable adult was found Friday in Columbia County with the help of a bloodhound.

The New York State Police said a good last known location for the missing person was established with help from the Clermont town highway superintendent and the Tousey Winery.

The location was in a wooded area near the winery, in spite of the person being missing for about three hours.

Police said Trooper Bell and his bloodhound Tilly found the person’s trail and began working into the woods.

Tilly worked through a swamp and multiple fields after a half-hour track before finding the person, who was wearing light clothing while temperatures were below freezing.
