Sullivan County Man Killed In Collision With Truck

CRAWFORD, NY — A Sullivan County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Orange County Saturday.

Around 10 a.m. Saturday, the New York State Police and the Town of Crawford Police Department responded to a fatal collision on Route 17K in the town of Crawford involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation found that a 2006 International truck, driven by Marcos Medina, 33, from Bronx, was traveling east on 17K when for unknown reasons his vehicle crossed over the center of the roadway and struck a 1993 Toyota Tacoma that was traveling west.

The International truck came to rest on its side following the collision.

Medina was extricated from the truck by the Bullville Fire Department.

Police said the driver of the Tacoma was identified as Gerald Filcher, 64, of Bloomingburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
